Family values: color analysis version

I’ve had the privilege this past year of getting to do color palettes for daughters, sisters, mothers, sons and husbands (yes, seasonal color analysis is a fabulous tool for men too). It seems that when family members witness how profound a difference it can make in a person’s appearance, confidence and shopping ease, they all want their own palettes.

You would think that because they’re closely related by blood, their coloring would be similar. Occasionally that’s the case, but not often.

Above is an example of a mother (a pharmacist, Crystal Spring) and daughter (just graduating chemical engineer). Mom came with her sister (a Dynamic Winter, not shown) to have their colors done last summer. Daughter was jealous; asked for a color analysis as a graduation gift. She has gorgeous caramel eyes and thought she was an Autumn, but turned out a Dusk Summer.

Here I am determining exactly what color her eyes are (they also have olive tones, so she gets two eye color sticks, not just one. And then trying some additional Summery colors.

(Thanks to her mom for the photos. I love it when a companion comes with the client because they can see what I see, which boosts the client’s confidence that I’m not just making stuff up.) Rosie the Riveted, my studio assistant cheers us on.

Here’s are two very different Springs. Daughter is a light Floral Spring and mom is the brightest and darkest of all Springs, a Vital Spring.

And then two Summers, another amber-eyed Dusk Summer (the daughter who gifted her mom) and the lucky mom, a Jewel-Tone Summer.

I’ve got a bunch more, including husbands and sons, but will save them for another post. Meanwhile, is there someone in your family in need of a personal color palette? It’s truly an investment gift–one that continues to pay back in looking great and easy error-free shopping.
